DESCRIPTION:Healthcare is an active participant in the climate change and environmental degradation damaging our planet. So\, our objective in 2020 is clear: to construct a comprehensive narrative for sustainable design in the widest sense – health system redesign\, architecture\, landscape\, funding models\, scientific and digital technologies\, products and infrastructure\, along with good food\, art\, performance\, and nature.\n.\nIn recognition of the urgent challenges that lay before us\, the main plenary theme for European Healthcare Design 2020 will be healthcare ‘At the Tipping Point: Designing for Population and Planetary Health’. The Call for Papers has noe been launched\, with the deadline for submission of abstracts set for 4 December\, 2019.\n.\nHealthcare is now the biggest ‘industry’ in the world and the single largest component in the economies of many developed countries. It’s a voracious consumer of goods and services\, producer of waste and generator of carbon. But if a physician’s primary obligation is to ‘do no harm’\, then we must accept that a population-based health system has environmental responsibilities that extend far beyond its delivery of care.\n.\nGovernments and systems are addressing these with varying degrees of success but the scale of the environmental challenge suggests that programmes of incremental change are insufficient. A fundamental transformation in service models is required. This\, in itself\, carries significant risk because we know that prescriptive and top-down driven changes to complex systems have unintentional consequences\, which are often more disruptive than the reform’s primary objectives.\n.\nOrganised by Architects for Health and Salus Global Knowledge Exchange\, the European Healthcare Design Congress provides a vibrant forum for addressing these issues\, bringing together clinicians\, policy advisors\, academics\, architects\, designers and artists. Now in our sixth year\, we’ve grown into a worldwide virtual community that comes together once a year for two or three days in June at the Royal College of Physicians in central London.\n

DESCRIPTION:The ESRA annual congress fosters growth in the field of regional anesthesia and pain therapy by facilitating new collaborations and various educational opportunities. It is the ultimate platform for connecting anaesthesiologists and pain therapists\, so if you haven’t marked your calendar for this important congress\, we encourage you to do so.\n\nOn behalf of ESRA and the Organising Committee\, we invite you to join us in Thessaloniki for the 39th Annual ESRA Congress – State of the Art Safety Standards in Regional Anaesthesia.\n\nSince its foundation in 1980\, ESRA has sought to associate and affiliate into one organization all anaesthesiologists\, physicians\, and scientists who are engaged in\, or interested in regional anaesthesia and pain medicine. Our vision is to provide comfortable care everywhere through education\, research and knowledge together in an innovative and open Society.\n\nAs in previous years\, the focus of the scientific programme will be on state-of-the-art presentations in our field as well as new insights into basic science\, clinical research\, and therapeutic interventions. For the whole programme the interaction between speakers and the audience is of utmost importance. The scientific standard at the annual ESRA Congress is now recognised as one of the best in the world and as a result carries a high rating with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.\n\nThe Scientific Committee has developed a programme with topics covering all the fields of interest in the application of regional anaesthesia/analgesia alone or in multimodal approaches. Acute and chronic pain management topics of special interest for anaesthesiologists will also be included.\n\nThe type of sessions will be refresher course lectures\, networking sessions\, pro/con debates\, panel discussions\, luncheon sessions\, special workshops including cadaver workshops\, and of course free paper and E-Posters. Residents are invited to submit their papers for inclusion in the ESRA Resident Best Free Paper and the ESRA Best Abstract Award competitions.\n\nESRA 2020 will also give us the time and opportunities for networking. While enjoying our outstanding scientific programme\, ESRA’s Annual Congress is the place to network with your peers\, meet old friends and make new ones. This year’s programme features several networking opportunities and occasions.\n\nDuring the Thessaloniki Congress you will have the possibility to register for the first part (written exam) of the Certified EDRA (European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia & Acute Pain Management) and EDPM (European Diploma of Pain Medicine). For those participants who have already successfully completed the first part of these diplomas there will be the opportunity to take the second part (practical).\n
