In an environment of increasing complexity, digital transformation and accountability, effective governance of health data is a fundamental prerequisite for designing health policies, monitoring organizational performance and continuously improving the quality of services provided.<\/p><p>International organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the OECD, the European Commission and the European Health Data Space (EHDS) recognize that the use of reliable and comparable data is a key factor in shaping evidence\u2011informed policies and ensuring effective governance of health systems.<\/p><p>The Euro-Mediterranean Institute for Quality and Safety in Health Services supports health organizations, national authorities and public health bodies in developing integrated data governance frameworks aimed at ensuring the quality, reliability, completeness and strategic use of information for clinical, administrative and policy\u2011making purposes.<\/p><p>Our approach covers the entire data lifecycle: from the design and standardization of data collection processes to verification, analysis, visualization and use of information for decision\u2011making. At the same time, we support the development of performance monitoring mechanisms, evaluation frameworks and systems for early identification of risks and improvement opportunities.<\/p><p>Effective data governance contributes to:<\/p><ul><li>Evidence\u2011informed strategic and operational decision\u2011making.<\/li><li>Improving the quality and reliability of data.<\/li><li>Developing robust quality and performance indicators.<\/li><li>Enhancing transparency and accountability.<\/li><li>Supporting evaluations, audits and certification processes.<\/li><li>More effective monitoring of
