Particular emphasis is placed on identifying and addressing social, economic, geographic and organizational factors that affect access to health services and lead to unequal health outcomes among different population groups.<\/p><p>The initiative is directly linked to WHO\/Europe\u2019s strategic priorities for strengthening Universal Health Coverage, reducing health inequalities and creating person\u2011centered health systems that respond to the needs of all citizens.<\/p><p><strong>The Institute\u2019s participation<\/strong><\/p><p>The Institute\u2019s participation in the Equity &amp; Access community reflects its long\u2011standing commitment to promoting policies and interventions that enhance quality, safety, accessibility and equity in health services.<\/p><p>Through its involvement in the Platform, the Institute monitors and contributes to the dissemination of innovative practices and policies related to:<\/p><ul><li>reducing health inequalities,<\/li><li>equitable access to high\u2011quality health services,<\/li><li>empowering vulnerable and underserved populations,<\/li><li>developing person\u2011centered health services,<\/li><li>improving patient experience
