{"id":1862,"date":"2020-02-05T12:24:51","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T09:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eiqsh.eu\/?p=1862"},"modified":"2020-02-11T14:31:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T11:31:16","slug":"promoting-population-health-with-public-private-partnerships-wheres-the-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eiqsh.eu\/en\/promoting-population-health-with-public-private-partnerships-wheres-the-evidence\/","title":{"rendered":"Promoting population health with public-private partnerships: Where\u2019s the evidence?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>(Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/bmcpublichealth.biomedcentral.com\/\">BMC Public Health<\/a>)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the results of a bibliography research were published after reporting relevant entries in the Medline and Web of Science databases to find scientific reports evaluating the effectiveness of Public-Private Partnerships in Health (PPPs) with regards to the health impact on human populations.<\/p>\n<p>In the frame of 36 studies a total of 25 PPPs have been evaluated. Assessments that were positive for the effective use of PPPs and the positive impact on health care outcomes were more often classified as &#8216;non-independent&#8217; and of poor quality. On the other hand, negative ratings were more common where PPPs included a high-potential and competing private partner in the health activities in which they participated.<\/p>\n<p>There is still a lack of credible evidence to support the effectiveness of public-private interaction and relationships in health promotion, and the evidence is currently reflected by non-independent evaluations.
