With over 30 years of professional experience as an economist, and an extensive University level teaching and research background, Dr. Alexandrakis has a combined managerial, research, public policy, and strategy analysis background, with a special focus in the Health sector. He has served executive positions in the pharmaceutical sector and as a high-level government official in Greece and the EU.<\/p>

Today, he is a Global Market Strategist at the WifOR Institute,<\/em><\/strong> a German independent Economic Research Organization, with global activity. He is also Adjunct Professor at the MBA International<\/em><\/strong> Program of the Athens University of Economics and Business<\/em><\/strong> for Health Sector Strategy <\/strong>and Member of the Business Advisory Council (BAC) <\/strong>of the Program. In parallel he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Management Science Laboratory<\/em> of the same University. He has recently served as an Executive Member of the BoD of the Hellenic Archaeological Proceeds Fund<\/em><\/strong> and is also a Research Associate of the University of Piraeus<\/strong> Laboratory of Health Economics and Management.<\/em> Dr. Alexandrakis is a member of Advisory Committees as an expert (ie. Greek Insurance Association) and has also served internationally as a consultant and on the Expert Review Board of the WHO – European Office<\/em><\/strong> for Investment for Health and Development<\/em> for Health Economy, to the Government of Kazakhstan etc.<\/p>

Before joining the Pharmaceutical Company MSD<\/em><\/strong> in 2012 (known as Merck & Co., Inc.<\/em> in the USA and Canada) to lead the Policy, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Greece and Cyprus, he had served as a Senior Advisor at the Hellenic Parliament<\/em><\/strong>, with a key responsibility on the Economic Adjustment Program of Greece and issues related to fiscal policies and legislation. Before that, for several years, he served at high-level government positions and Committees in Greece and the EU (Special State Secretary of \u00a0the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism<\/em><\/strong>, Managing Director for Administration of the National Theatre of Greece<\/em>, <\/strong>CEO of the Greek State Healthcare Organization for Seamen<\/em><\/strong>, Coordinator of PPP and Investment Committees<\/em><\/strong>, and has actively participated in several Committees that relate to Innovation and Entrepreneurship<\/em><\/strong>, the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Health sector, Tourism, the Insurance sector<\/em><\/strong>, and served as a Scientific Advisor at the Economic and Social Council of Greece<\/em><\/strong>.
