Participation in the WHO/Europe Public Health Innovation Platform – Equity & Access

The Euro‑Mediterranean Institute for Quality and Safety in Health Services participates in the Public Health Innovation Platform of the WHO Regional Office for Europe (WHO/Europe), specifically in the thematic area “Equity & Access”.

The Platform was created by WHO/Europe to serve as a dynamic collaboration ecosystem among organizations, public bodies, research centers, health professionals and innovation actors who develop and implement solutions for the most significant public health challenges in the European Region.

“Equitable access to health is a fundamental prerequisite for improving population health and reducing social inequalities.”

The thematic area Equity & Access focuses on developing and disseminating innovative approaches that help reduce health inequalities and ensure equitable access to high‑quality health services for all citizens. Particular emphasis is placed on identifying and addressing social, economic, geographic and organizational factors that affect access to health services and lead to unequal health outcomes among different population groups.

The initiative is directly linked to WHO/Europe’s strategic priorities for strengthening Universal Health Coverage, reducing health inequalities and creating person‑centered health systems that respond to the needs of all citizens.

The Institute’s participation in the Equity & Access community reflects its long‑standing commitment to promoting policies and interventions that enhance quality, safety, accessibility and equity in health services.
