Efthymia was born in 1993 in Athens. She graduated from the department of Nursing, University of the Peloponnese, with a degree grade “Excellent” in 2015. She also completed her postgraduate studies in “Health Services Administration and Crisis Management” of the same department with a degree of “Excellent” in 2017. She is now a PhD candidate in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of Harokopio University on the subject “Effect of oleocanthal rich extra-virgin olive oil on platelet activation and other biochemical health markers of patients with diabetes” receiving a scholarship through the World Olive Center for health, from the company LIVA GROVES SA.

Alongside with her studies she has participated in various research projects. Her main areas of interest are metabolic diseases and their association with lifestyle habits (diet, sleep, exercise) in both pediatric and adult populations, the investigation of molecular mechanisms leading to complications of diabetes and ways to prevent them. Her scientific articles on the above fields have been published in international and Greek journals. Similarly, she has made relevant conferences presentations in Greece and abroad, receiving occasionally awards.

Regarding her clinical experience she is a nurse at the emergency/outpatient department of Mediterraneo Hospital since 2015; while in 2019 she took on the duty of a nurse supervisor. Finally she is a member of the Oncology Committee for the coordination of the Mediterraneo Hospital participation in the National Cancer Registry.
