IQVIA HELLAS and the EuroMediterranean Institute of Quality & Safety in Healthcare Services, Avedis Donabedian, have the honour of organizing a series of conferences aimed at fostering public dialogue and consultation on the priorities of the National Action Plan for Quality in Healthcare, which forms part of the strategic actions of the Hellenic Organization for Quality Assurance in Health S.A. (ODIPY S.A.) implemented under the framework of “Organizational Reforms in the Healthcare System.”
The cycle of conferences across all Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) commenced at the 1st Regional Health Authority of Attica on 16 September 2024. The opening remarks were delivered by: Ms Daphne Kaitelidou (President of ODIPY S.A.), Ms Olga Balaoura (Governor of the 1st Regional Health Authority), Mr Dimitrios Vasilopoulos (Professor of Internal Medicine-Rheumatology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – Coordinator of Undergraduate Education, Medical School Education Office), Mr Pavlos Myrianthous (President of the Nursing School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), Ms Martha Kelesi (President of the Nursing School, University of West Attica), Mr Georgios Patoulis (President of the Medical Association of Athens), Mr Konstantinos Petsios (Secretary General, National Association of Nurses of Greece – ESNE), and Ms Memi Tsekoura (1st Vice President of the Hellenic Patients’ Association).
Subsequently, the conference was held at the 2nd Regional Health Authority of Piraeus and the Aegean Islands on 14 October 2024. Opening remarks were delivered by: Ms Olympia Christofilea (Deputy Governor of the 2nd Regional Health Authority), Mr Nikolaos Platanisiotis (President of the Medical Association of Piraeus), Mr Lambros Bizas (Treasurer of the Hellenic Union of Nurses), Ms Aikaterini Theocharis (Representative of the Hellenic Patients’ Association & 2nd Vice President of Rare Diseases Greece), Ms Angeliki Dreliοzi (Director of Public Health, 2nd Regional Health Authority), and Mr Grigoris Leontopoulos (2nd Vice President of the National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece).
Representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Association of Nurses of Greece (ESNE), the Hellenic Patients’ Association, the Hellenic Cancer Federation, the National Confederation of Disabled People of Greece (ESAmeA), the Rare Diseases Greece Association (ESAE), and the Medical Associations of Athens and Piraeus also participated in the conferences.
The next scheduled conferences will take place at the 5th Regional Health Authority of Thessaly on 30 October 2024, at the 6th Regional Health Authority of Peloponnese, Ionian Islands, Epirus & Western Greece on 13 November 2024, and at the 7th Regional Health Authority of Crete on 27 November 2024.
The initiative “Empowering the Healthcare Workforce for the Successful Implementation of the National Strategy for Quality Assurance in Healthcare” is part of the operation “Improving the Quality of Healthcare Services” (MIS Code: 5180919), which has been submitted under the “Organizational Reforms in the Healthcare System” measure funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
