Every year, on 12 May, we pay tribute to the people who represent the frontline of healthcare, serving with a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and dedication. Every day, they make a decisive contribution to safeguarding the health and dignity of our fellow human beings.
As highlighted by current global evidence, it is imperative to develop and implement health policy decisions aimed at substantially strengthening the role and incentives of nurses, while ensuring their continuous professional advancement as a critical workforce within healthcare systems worldwide.
The theme of this year’s message from the International Council of Nurses (ICN) is:
“Nurses make economies stronger.”
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) have published the report “State of the World’s Nursing 2025”, which provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date analysis of data related to the global nursing workforce.
