O.D.I.P.Y. S.A.: SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THREE-DAY TRAINING WORKSHOPS

The EuroMediterranean Institute of Quality & Safety in Healthcare Services, Avedis Donabedian, in collaboration with IQVIA HELLAS, has the honour of delivering a comprehensive educational programme on Quality Assurance, international quality management tools, and international Patient Safety initiatives for executives of the Greek Healthcare System, under the leadership of the Hellenic Organization for Quality Assurance in Health S.A. (ODIPY S.A.).

This initiative aims to support the implementation of the National Action Plan for Quality in Healthcare, which forms part of the Organization’s strategic actions implemented under the “Organizational Reforms in the Healthcare System” initiative through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

Through the implementation of a series of educational workshops designed to strengthen the competencies of healthcare executives, the programme seeks to enhance the capacity of the Healthcare System’s workforce to implement the National Strategy for Quality Assurance in Healthcare Services, with the ultimate objective of improving the safety, effectiveness, and accessibility of healthcare services in accordance with internationally recognized scientific standards.

The workshops are attended by executives from the National Health System, including representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Regional Health Authorities (RHAs), ODIPY S.A., public hospitals, and other healthcare organizations such as the National Public Health Organization (EODY), IDIKA S.A., and KETEKNY. These participants play a critical role in implementing the reforms associated with the Roadmap for Quality Assurance and Patient Safety within the Healthcare System. Upon successful completion of the educational programme, participants are awarded a certificate following successful completion of an online certification examination.

The first two three-day training workshops were held on 31 May, 3 and 4 June 2024, focusing on “Quality in Healthcare Services,” and on 12, 13 and 14 June 2024, covering the broader topic of “Quality Management Tools.” The third three-day workshop of the programme will take place in July, with the theme “Principles and Policies of the National Strategy for Quality Assurance.” During this workshop, the project’s key deliverable entitled “Development of the Roadmap and Executive Plan for the Large-Scale Implementation of the National Strategy for Quality Assurance in Greece” will be presented.

As part of the consultation process for establishing the priorities of the Action Plan for Quality Assurance and Patient Safety in Greece, a Delphi Study will also be conducted. Its objective is to establish the framework for discussion during the next phase of the initiative, which involves organizing two-day workshops in each Regional Health Authority, with the participation of Regional Health Authority Administrations, healthcare organization executives, and healthcare professionals, focusing on the principles and policies of the National Strategy for Quality Assurance.

This initiative, entitled “Empowering the Healthcare Workforce for the Successful Implementation of the National Strategy for Quality Assurance in Healthcare,” forms part of the project “Improving the Quality of Healthcare Services” (MIS Code: 5180919), which has been submitted under the “Organizational Reforms in the Healthcare System” measure funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
