Description

Medication‑related errors are among the most common causes of patient harm worldwide. Safe management, preparation and administration of medications is a critical component of clinical practice and a core pillar of patient safety programs.

This program presents international guidelines and best practices for preventing medication errors, focusing on the responsibilities of health professionals, safe administration processes and the management of high‑risk medications.

The training covers international protocols and guidelines for proper medication handling. It includes examples of correct and incorrect practice, principles of abbreviations and documentation of medical orders, as well as the fundamental nursing documentation standards for medication administration and patient monitoring.

It also examines categories of high‑risk medications (High Alert Medications), drugs that look alike or sound alike (Sound Alike – Look Alike), and best practices for storage, management and use.
